Texans have paid tens of millions of dollars more for home gas service because of one-sided decision-making by the Texas Railroad Commission, according to a new study from the ACSC. The analysis provides specific evidence that the state's oldest regulatory agency favors the interests of utilities over those of gas consumers when setting natural gas utility rates. The Atmos Cities Steering Committee is a permanent standing coalition of more than 150 Texas cities that has been authorized, through council resolutions, to represent the interests of municipal and residential consumers in gas utility regulatory matters.
